Pastoral Care is our practical caring action to others in our congregation, staff and volunteers, and Community Ministry clients, that are expressions of God’s love for us.
This is based on the following scriptures:
“I’m giving you a new commandment; Love one another, in the same way that I have loved you. Everyone will know that you are my disciples because of your love for each other.”
John 13: 34-35
Often spontaneous, but also planned actions of pastoral care, take many forms:
- Prayer support.
- Provision of food and meals.
- Cards and gifts for those special times of celebration, illness and grief.
- Congratulations for new babies.
- Encouragement in times of stress and concern.
